Useful Phone Numbers in Belgium

Belgium uses the country code +32. So for someone calling from outside Belgium, the pattern of numbers would be: the international call prefix + country code of Belgium + area code + phone number.  In Belgium, landlines and phone numbers in the bigger cities are seven digits while smaller cities and mobile phones have six digit phone numbers. The trunk code ‘0’ is also always added as a prefix.

For mobile phone services, there are three main providers in Belgium: Mobistar, Base and Proximus. Each of the providers are assigned a unique number added as the second digit in the area code. Mobile/GSM codes begin with 04xx. Hence, the following distinguish each provider from the others:

047x – for Proximus subscribers
048x – for Base subscribers
049x – for Mobistar numbers.
